National home sales declined in July
Statistics released today by the Canadian Real Estate Association show national home sales declined by 3.5 per cent on a month-over-month basis between June and July 2021. Actual (not seasonally adjusted) activity declined by 15.2 per cent year-over-year and the number of newly listed properties dropped by 8.8 per cent from June to July. Ontario saw year-over-year price growth slow, but it’s still high in long-term relative terms, at 25 per cent.
Five IHOPs coming to Ontario
Toronto-based K2 Group today announced plans to open five IHOP restaurants in Ontario over the next five years. The first is scheduled to open at the 10 Acre Truck Stop in Belleville at the beginning of 2022. The others will be in Hamilton, Waterloo, London and Windsor.
SNC-Lavalin closes sale of oil and gas division
SNC-Lavalin today announced it has completed the sale of its Resources Oil and Gas business on Aug. 15, following receipt of Saudi Arabian regulatory approval. The firm reached a binding agreement on the deal with Kentech Corporate Holdings Limited earlier in the year. SNC-Lavalin said its focus is now realigned towards growth of its engineering services, including its Engineering, Design and Project Management, Nuclear and Infrastructure Services segments.
RESAAS CEO to appear at investor summit
Vancouver-based RESAAS Services Inc., a technology platform for the real estate industry, has announced that its CEO Tom Rossiter will present at the Q3 Virtual Investor Summit, hosted by the Investor Summit Group Tuesday and Wednesday. Rossiter will address the conference tomorrow at 11:45 a.m. PT
