On this episode of The Construction Record Podcast™, we have highlights from a recent Buildings Show fireside chat style panel about artificial intelligence (AI) moderated by ӰԺ director of news media Vince Versace, featuring LandLogic CEO Arash Shahi and Doug Dockery, ӰԺ’s chief technology officer.
The trio discussed the current and future role of AI in the construction industry, where it can help companies do more with less and separated hype from reality in an ever-changing space.
Dockery also emphasized the way to grasp AI’s potential is to use it yourself and learn what the tools are capable of and how they can benefit your construction company. He also said one of thebest features of AI is its ability to get out of people’s way and use tools in a straightforward and intuitive manner.
Shahi, who has a background in real estate, said the combination of AI and open data could bring rapid change to the space, and while it wouldn’t put realtors out of a job it would change their roles in the industry. He also said for the construction industry to adopt AI it has to address specific issues the industry needs fixed instead of being a “solution looking for a problem.”
