Women in Construction Week: The journey forward

Women in Construction Week: The journey forward

Women in Construction (WIC) week kicked-off March 5 and runs until March 11.

Construction associations, companies and the like will be hosting various events across North America to celebrate the many accomplishments while reiterating there is still work to be done.

With women still only representing a small percentage of the construction workforce, and during a time of unprecedented demand in the sector, WIC week is a chance to spread the word of the endless opportunities construction provides as well as raise awareness of the challenges some women face, with the end goal of evoking change.

The Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce have compiled a list of stories that provide a cross-section into some of our coverage of women in construction.

Throughout WIC week and during the entire month of March in our Women in Construction feature, we will be showcasing various women in construction and their personal journeys to success.
