LONDON, ONT. – The Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario and the City of London recently celebrated the launch of a new housing project, with 42 affordable housing units in London.
The project at 345 Sylvan St. is a three-storey brick building that was completed in July 2024. Tenants began moving into the project in early October.
The project is providing affordable and accessible homes to those who are experiencing or at-risk of experiencing homelessness. It is operated by London Middlesex Community Housing.
A breakdown of funding for includes:
- $8.8 million from the federal government under the third round of the Rapid Housing Initiative.
- More than $5 million from the federal and provincial governments through the Ontario Priorities Housing Initiative.
- $7.8 million from the City of London, also announced in 2023.
