EDMONTON – Epic Investment Services has announced a $45 million redevelopment of an iconic 36-storey building in downtown Edmonton.
The project is slated to modernize Manulife Place’s common areas, amenities and retail spaces, states a release.
Work has already started on the building’s exterior, which includes new glazing on the ground and second levels, creating a striking new lobby entrance.
Inside, upgrades to the two-storey retail podium include new flooring, LED lighting and communal spaces.
New amenities will include a club quality fitness centre, end-of-trip facilities with expanded bike storage, an exclusive tenant lounge and a conference centre. The building also has a 45,000 square foot rooftop terrace.
The office and retail space will be anchored by , the release reads, who will soon join forces with National Bank of Canada.
Additional retail space in the two-storey podium will accommodate new food and retail offerings.
Epic, who is serving as development manager, has worked with ownership to select a team of firms including:

- EllisDon – General contractor
- CBRE Limited – Leasing broker
“As downtown Edmonton continues to evolve, including with the expansion of the ICE District, the repositioning of Manulife Place aligns with the city’s growth,” the release states. “Through this redevelopment Manulife Place will be reintroduced to the market as a premier address for Edmonton, attracting tenants who will play a key role in shaping the city’s future and contribute to its continued transformation.”
